How To Style A Yellow Playsuit with KatchMe #AD

THIS POST WAS WRITTEN IN PAID PARTNERSHIP WITH KATCHME

With an unexpected (but definitely appreciated!) mini heatwave sweeping the UK this September, I can't be the only person hastily shoving my autumn jumpers back into the wardrobe and reaching for my favourite summer clothing pieces again. As if anticipating the surge in temperatures, women's clothing brand KatchMe got in touch, offering me the chance to style two gorgeous yellow playsuits from their collections! With yellow being my signature colour, I leapt at the opportunity to flex my summer styling muscles once more. Here's how I achieved playsuit perfection!

She's a Belter

Before placing my first KatchMe order, I'd never really seen the appeal of belted playsuits. I thought they'd be really tricky to style: too informal for the office but too structured for a casual look. However, I couldn't have got it more wrong! This sleeveless yellow belted playsuit from KatchMe has become one of my go-to clothing pieces for all occasions. The asymmetric hem dips a little lower than you'd usually expect from a playsuit, ensuring that it's an appropriate length for a formal workplace setting. At the same time, the wrap around front gives it a bit of personality, perfect for evening drinks with friends.

I'm also a big fan of the detachable belt, which provides a great waist cinching fit. When combined with the flared legs of the playsuit, this creates a really flattering hourglass silhouette. The polyester material is good quality and comfortable to wear. The only thing that you do have to bear in mind with this playsuit is that textured underwear does show through the fabric, so make sure you're wearing a seamless bra and no-show knickers to avoid a VPL moment!

While the weather is still fine, I styled this playsuit with a coordinating yellow scrunchie, a black faux leather handbag, and some sunnies, but what I really love about this playsuit is that it'll also make for a great autumnal transitional piece. As the weather gets cooler, I envisage wearing it with a black turtleneck underneath and a pair of thigh high boots.

Puff the Magic Playsuit

Puff sleeves are one of 2020's most popular fashion trends. Every tee, jumper and cardi that graced high street shops at the beginning of this year seemed to come complete with ballooning organza sleeves. The dramatic effect of those ubiquitous sheer sleeves doesn't really do it for me, but I was immediately drawn to this poofy gingham number in KatchMe's collection of puff sleeve playsuits. The powder yellow colour and the picnic table vibe of the print were just too cute to resist!

The tie-front detailing and the sweetheart neckline of this playsuit made me feel oh-so darling. I wore it on a weekend trip to a local National Trust garden and was really comfortable all day long. On my casual day out, I paired the playsuit with some sandals and a woven straw bag - the effect was truly adorable. I think that this playsuit will be a bit tricker to take into autumn as it's such a "girl next door" summery piece, but if any readers of this post have any ideas of how to make it look just as cute when temperatures drop, I'd love to hear all suggestions!
