Fashion from My Bedroom: Loungewear for All Occasions #AD

THIS POST CONTAINS GIFTED ITEMS FROM FEMME LUXE FINERY
Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll be aware that the world is going wild for loungewear right now. Everyone is investing in stylish matching co-ords for vegging out in front of the TV and cute jumpers and tees to rock whilst lazing in the garden. But when lockdown is fully lifted and the world goes back to something resembling normal, what will become of all our meticulously styled indoor looks? Will they be relegated to the bottom of our wardrobes as we reach for our blazers and cigarette trousers again? Well, I can tell you now that my loungewear looks certainly won't be meeting this fate. For today's instalment of my Fashion From My Bedroom series, I've put together a post to show you how you can style loungewear for any occasion, whether you're hitting the town for a night out or enjoying a good old fashioned Netflix binge.

Smartening Up

Belted loungewear sets offer a girl versatility with a capital V. The bodycon trousers cling in all the right places and flatter your shape and the tie-waist top cinches you in at the waist, gliding over your stomach. The deep v-neck reveals an attractive amount of décolletage too (and if you're not a member of the itty bitty titty committee like me, it would show off just the right amount of cleavage!). When paired with knee-high black boots and a matching black duster jacket, my Brown Ribbed Belted Loungewear Set will look perfect on a night out. I'll be able to dance the night away in comfort as well as feeling put-together.

An added bonus is that I won't even have to get changed when falling into bed afterwards, as I can just whip off the coat and boots and sink into bed in the very cosy loungewear! A dark lip, gold accessories and some French braids really pull the smart look together for me. I could also see this ensemble working brilliantly as airport attire, as you'll be looking runway-ready in the departure lounge without compromising on comfort during your flight.

A Smart-Casual Saviour

"What's the dress code?" "Smart casual!" An answer that's destined to illicit a groan from any woman. What exactly *IS* smart casual anyway? If anyone has figured it out, please spread the good word and let us all know. My personal formula for smart-casual success is adding one part casual to two parts smart, mixing them together and hoping for the best. That's exactly what I've done here with my Black Belted Long Line Hoodie Dress from Femme Luxe. When worn with a pair of leggings or some cosy knee-socks, this would be perfect for cosying up in bed, but when paired with my two smarter elements: some spotty tights and heels, it makes for a perfect smart-casual outfit.

As I'm a big lover of vibrant colours (I very rarely wear all black!), I completed this look by adding some pops of bright red. To achieve this, I borrowed a pair of my Mum's patent red heels, the double buckles of which I love, and slapped on a bit of bright red lippie as well. I can definitely see myself heading out to the pub rocking this look post-lockdown. Any of Femme Luxe's black loungewear collection could be Zhuzed up in this way by raiding your accessory drawer!

Casual as Can Be

Loungewear's number one use is, of course, for chilling on the sofa, so for my ultimate lounging look, I selected this gorgeous Cream Oversize Sherpa Jumper. I stand at 5ft 7inches tall and the jumper is just the right length for me to wear it alone as a dress, but you could also pop on a pair of cycling shorts or leggings if you don't want to have your legs out. The material is so soft and plush but thankfully it isn't furry on the inside too. Faux fur lined clothes often leave you feeling sticky very quickly, so the fabric inside this one kept me feeling fresh.

I paired my floofy jumper with a yellow headband and equally fuzzy slippers to complete the cosy look. I do have to say, however, that sadly this jumper was the one item of clothing from my Femme Luxe haul where I wasn't overly impressed with the quality. The cuffs of the sleeves hadn't been properly hemmed, so the fluffy fabric was pulling away from them as soon as I took this jumper out of the parcel. I'm not sure it'll hold up too well once it's been washed. If fluffy fabrics are still your thing, there are plenty of fleece loungewear sets on the Femme Luxe site to tempt you.
